Joiner notches runner-up finish in Governor's Cup at Magnolia

With Friday’s opener falling to wet weather, Joseph Joiner returned to action on Saturday evening for the 20th annual Governor’s Cup at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.).

Drawing 45 Late Models for the event co-sanctioned by Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS), Joiner’s third-place finish in his heat race positioned him on the fifth row for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Charging forwad eight spots in the rain-shortened 25-lap affair, Joseph raced to a second-place finish. He chased Josh Putnam to the checkers with John Henderson rounding out the podium.

Joseph is currently tied for the lead in the latest HTF Series.
