Hunt the Front battles with World of Outlaws at Ponderosa
With Mother Nature washing out the Clash at the Mag, Hunt the Front drivers Joseph Joiner and Jesse Enterkin headed to Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) on Friday evening for the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series-sanctioned Johnny Mulligan Classic.
In a field of 42 cars, Joseph raced his way into the $15,000-to-win A-Main via his B-Main after a slip-up early in his heat. Starting in 19th, Joiner pulled pitside on lap 13 to bring an early end to his night. Jesse piloted the Clayborn Racing No. 42 Late Model to an eighth-place finish in his heat, relegating him into a consolation race. Needing to place third or better to make the show, Enterkin logged a seventh-place outing.
Avoiding the rain on Saturday, both drivers trekked to Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tenn.) where Joseph used the event as a Super Late Model test session while Jesse competed in the 602 Late Model ranks. Joiner started the feature in second and raced to a runner-up finish. Enterkin followed up a fifth-place run in his heat with a consolation victory, locking his spot into the $6,000-to-win JR Knight Memorial in The Fast Farm No. 1E MasterSBilt Chassis. He displayed an early charge in the 50-lapper before folding the nose under, ending his night early.
