Joseph Joiner podiums in Modified at Whynot Motorsports Park
Debuting with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals on Thursday, Joseph Joiner invaded Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) for the third stop of the rain-plagued tour.
With 47 Late Models crammed in the pit area for the Roscoe Smith Classic, Joiner raced his way into the $7,544-to-win A-Main with a fourth-to-second showing in his heat race. Losing three spots in the 44-lap affair, Joseph logged a 17th-place outing.
After Mother Nature axed Friday’s Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals event at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) early in the program, Joseph returned to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) for the rescheduled PawPaw George Memorial race from July 8th. Joiner planned to pull double duty in his Late Model and the Chase Holland-owned Modified but issues with the liftgate in his hauler left his Late Model sidelined for the evening. Starting the $3,000-to-win Modified feature in fourth via his qualifying effort, Joseph clawed forward one spot in the 45-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He chased Lucas Lee and Chase Holland to the checkers with Ronnie Roberts Jr. and Rusty Cooper rounding out the top-five.
