Top-10 finish in World 100 at prelim at Eldora Speedway
For the 53rd running of the annual World 100 weekend, Joseph Joiner and the Hunt the Front team trekked to the famed Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for a pair of prelims on Thursday and Friday leading up to Saturday’s main event.
With the 102-car field split into two groups, Joiner followed up an eighth-place finish in his heat with an impressive sixth-to-second run in his consolation race. Moving forward six more spots in his 25-lap preliminary feature, Joseph recorded an 18th-place outing.
On Friday, Joseph nailed the invert correctly as he timed in 16th-fastest in his group before picking up a flag-to-flag victory in his eight-lap heat. Starting his $12,000-to-win prelim in 13th, Joiner clawed forward four spots to register a ninth-place finish.
The weekend drew to an early close on Saturday after a ninth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Transferring only the top-four in the $56,000-to-win World 100, Joiner gained six spots to finish 11th.
