Joseph Joiner wheels to fifth in Crate at EAMS
Jesse Enterkin joined his teammate Joseph Joiner who was pulling double duty over the weekend at East Alabama Motor Speedway (PHenix City, Ala.) for the 49th running of the National 100.
Drawing 40 Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series entries for the non-points event that kicked off on Saturday, Joiner missed a transfer spot in his heat after slipping over the banking in turn three, shifting his focus to the 604 Crate Late Model ranks.
Locking the top-eight qualifiers from both groups into Sunday’s A-Main, both Joseph and Jesse secured their spot with the seventh-fastest laps in their respective groups.
On Sunday, Joseph lost a spot in his B-Main, forcing him to use a provisional into the $49,000-to-win National 100 finale. He was scored 18th in the final rundown after retiring on lap 26.
With both drivers chasing the $5,000 top prize in the Crate A-Main, Joiner capped off the weekend with a 14th-to-5th run while Jesse moved forward to finish 12th. Joseph followed Montana Dudley, Allen Styck, Austin Horton, and Cody Smith across the line in the 40-lap affair.
