The biggest race weekend ever held at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Ala., is set for Nov. 17-19 as the southern Alabama dirt track gets set to host the second edition of Hunt the Front’s annual late-season Super Late Model special event Nov. 18-19.

Hunt the Front’s Southern Showcase presented by Sweet Victory Apparel will include two big nights of Super Late Model racing with $5,000 going to the winner of the weekend opener on Friday, Nov. 18 and $22,000 going to the winner of the finale on Saturday, Nov. 19. Event details are listed below.

After persistent rain throughout the afternoon and with forecasts calling for it to continue into the night, Saturday’s Southern Showcase finale has been postponed to Sunday afternoon.

All tickets and pit passes purchased on Saturday as well as weekend passes will be honored on Sunday. Please hold on to your ticket stubs and pit passes.

The track's general admission area is tiered concrete. You are welcome to sit on the concrete, but we recommend bringing lawn chairs.

There is wheelchair accessible seating along the top row of the general admission area.

Camping
Overnight camping for RVs is $50 for the weekend and is only allowed in the designated area at the rear of the track's general admission parking lot. Check in and pay at the pit gate. There are no hook ups and no dump stations.

Late Models will run a full show of hot laps, qualify, heat races, B-Mains, and a feature both nights. Modifieds will hot lap, qualify, and run a feature. All other divisions will hot lap/qualify and run features only. B-Mains will be ran if needed. Local division rules can be found on the DSS website at https://deepsouthspeedway.org/

- $500 bonus for lowering the track record (15.304). If both Friday's and Saturday's fast times are new track records, the bonus will go to Saturday's fast qualifier.

- $100 to each heat race winner on Friday
- $250 to each heat race winner on Saturday

Local division payouts are set by the track.

The Super Late Model portion of the event will be overseen by the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series and will operate under their technical rules with the following exceptions:

Tire Rule
- Hoosier 1350s or Crate 21s with a Hoosier 1600 or Crate 55 right-rear option.
- Each night, drivers will be required to run the same four tires for qualifying, heat races, and B-mains, then will be allowed two new tires for the feature.
- Tire samples will be taken and tested against manufacturer-supplied benchmarks after the event.

Droop Rule
- The "Droop Rule" used by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will be enforced. Droop measurement must not exceed 51 inches at any time.

Support Divisions
Support divisions will be overseen by Deep South Speedway officials and will follow the track's rules. Those can be found on the track website: https://deepsouthspeedway.org/

LOXLEY, Ala. (Oct. 10, 2022) - Details are coming together for the biggest race weekend ever held at Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Ala.) as the southern Alabama dirt track gets set to host the second edition of Hunt the Front’s annual late-season Super Late Model special event Nov. 18-19.

Hunt the Front is excited to welcome back two major partners for the event with Sweet Victory Apparel returning as the presenting sponsor and FloRacing returning as the event’s official live streaming partner.

Hunt the Front’s Southern Showcase presented by Sweet Victory Apparel will include two big nights of Super Late Model racing the weekend before Thanksgiving with $5,000 going to the winner of the weekend opener on Friday, Nov. 18 and $20,000 going to the winner of the finale on Saturday, Nov. 19.

The weekend will open with a practice session on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The unsanctioned mega-event will mark the highest paying weekend of racing ever held at Deep South Speedway as well as the track’s highest paying single-day event. Local divisions will also be in action with Vintage cars, Pure Stocks, and Bombers, joining the Friday night program and Modifieds, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, and Stingers joining the Saturday night program.

To help keep the show moving, the format for local divisions will be combined hot lap/qualifying and features only, while Super Late Models will run a full program of hot laps, qualifying, heat races, B-mains, and a feature each night. Friday’s Super Late Model feature will be 25 laps, while Saturday’s finale will be 50.
